Welcome back to Voila Moola for more frugal living tips! One of my favorite frugal living tips involves your daily grind. In other words, if you have a fancy coffee habit, and would like to increase your savings–the urban legend is true. You will save money by cutting fancy coffee store coffees out of your budget. But how much can you really save?
Frugal Living Tips: Make Your Coffee at Home
Frugal living tips are right–you always save money by making things at home instead of going out, and that includes your coffee. Depending on where you live, you’re probably spending anywhere from $2-5 per cup. Compare that to making your own cup at home, which only costs you about 18 cents a cup!
So how do the savings add up if you begin making your coffees at home? Pretty quickly, actually. If you spend an average of $3 per day, 5 days per week on a cup of coffee from a café, you’re racking up costs of $15 per week or $60 per month. This adds up to $720 every year, just on fancy coffee!
By enjoying that coffee at home, you will only spend only 18 cents per cup, which equates to less than a dollar a week. That is quite a bit of savings that could go into your bank account instead.
You can potentially add an additional $720 dollars per year to your savings by enjoying your coffee at home instead of buying it from the coffee shop. Is it worth it? Only you can decide!
Frugal living tips inspire us all to think about all the ways we could save more each month. Coffee at home isn’t the only way–try cutting the cable cord, using less electricity, or not buying bottled water. Be sure to check out other easy ways to save more money every month.
